A shocking incident has been reported in Nairobi County after a senior government official was discovered dead in a city lodging on Sunday morning. Reports indicate that the official, who served as a chief, had checked into the lodging at around 10:00 AM.
He was reportedly accompanied by a woman who works as a radio presenter at one of the well-known radio stations in the country.
It is said that the two had entered the room together earlier that morning.
According to witnesses, moments later at around 10:09 AM, the woman was heard screaming and calling for assistance. Her distress calls quickly drew the attention of people nearby, including staff members and other occupants within the lodging.
When they rushed to the scene, they allegedly found the chief lying unconscious and unresponsive.
The incident was immediately reported to authorities, and police officers later arrived at the location. Reports further indicate that several pills were recovered from the chief’s pocket, although investigators have not yet confirmed whether they contributed to his death.
The radio presenter was advised to record a statement to assist with ongoing investigations. The body of the deceased was later moved to the mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
