Shock as 54 Police Trainees Are Kicked Out of College, 18 Allegedly Fall Pregnant (VIDEO)

At least 54 police recruits undergoing training at the National Police Training College in Kiganjo have been dismissed over various issues, including pregnancy, forged academic certificates, criminal records, and disciplinary misconduct. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

The affected recruits were among those who joined the college in November 2025 after successfully passing the nationwide police recruitment exercise.

However, during a recent assessment conducted at the institution, authorities discovered that some trainees no longer met the required standards to continue with the programme.

According to the Commandant of the National Police College Kiganjo Campus, Gideon Munga Nyale, 18 female trainees were dismissed after reportedly falling pregnant during the training period.

Another 18 recruits were found to have presented fake academic certificates during recruitment.

The college administration also revealed that 10 recruits had previous criminal records, making them unfit to serve in the police service. Two others allegedly used forged identification documents, while two trainees were dismissed on medical grounds.

Additionally, three recruits were removed from the institution due to disciplinary issues, while one voluntarily exited the programme because of health complications.

Officials stated that although the recruits had initially passed the rigorous recruitment exercise, later investigations exposed issues that compromised their eligibility to remain in training.

Some of those dismissed may also face restrictions from participating in future police recruitment exercises.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen attended the event and said the government is continuing with plans to improve police training institutions through better infrastructure, technology integration, and specialised training programmes aimed at boosting professionalism within the police service.
