A Kenyan woman identified as Wanjiru has shared a heartbreaking account of what she allegedly went through while working as a house help in Russia. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
She said she left Kenya with the hope of finding better opportunities abroad and being able to support her family financially, but her experience turned out very differently from what she expected.
Wanjiru claims that upon arriving in Russia, she realized the job she had been promised was not available. Instead, she was assigned duties that were not part of their original agreement.
When she questioned the change, she alleges that her employer became violent and assaulted her, while his three sons recorded the incident on video.
She further says that after the alleged assault, she was locked in a dark room for four days.
According to her, the video later circulated widely on social media.
In a tragic turn of events, Wanjiru revealed that her mother saw the clip and was deeply affected, eventually taking her own life.
She is now urging Kenyan women planning to travel abroad for work to be extra careful, advising them to thoroughly verify job offers and prioritize their safety.
Her experience highlights the risks some migrant workers may face and the importance of stronger protection mechanisms for those seeking employment overseas.
