In the video, the mother is heard telling her daughter to go and find somewhere else to spend the night. She says that she and the man needed privacy in the house, leaving the daughter confused and hurt by the sudden decision.
The girl is heard crying and asking her mother where she would sleep at that time of night. She also reminds her that she was supposed to go to school the next day, raising concern about her safety and wellbeing.
However, the mother appears unbothered and is even seen laughing. She goes ahead to question her daughter, asking her to choose between her education and the new man who was allegedly ready to give her Ksh 12,000 for basic needs.
Moments later, the mother locks the door, leaving the girl outside.
The video has sparked strong reactions among Kenyans online. Many people have expressed anger and sadness, saying it is painful to see a parent treat their own child in such a manner.
Others have raised concerns about the girl’s safety and called for parents to protect and support their children instead of putting them in harm’s way.
