"Umaskini Ni Kitu Mbaya Sana" Shock as Top Politician’s Daughter Insults Kenyans Complaining About Fuel Prices, Calls Them Poor

There was drama on X (formerly Twitter) after a daughter of a local Member of Parliament (MP) allegedly insulted Kenyans who were complaining about the rising cost of fuel.

Many users had been expressing their frustration over the increasing prices of petrol and diesel, saying life has become very expensive. However, the young woman responded in a way that shocked many people online.

In a statement she made online, she questioned why people were complaining about a fuel increase of around Ksh 40. She said she did not understand how someone could cry over such a small change in petrol prices.

She even added that she wished Kenyans knew how much she spends daily on diesel for her V8 vehicle, suggesting that the increase was not a big issue.

She further claimed that she spends about Ksh 30,000 on fuel alone, and another Ksh 30,000 on food for her dogs. Her comments suggested that people who were complaining about fuel prices were only struggling because of poverty, which she said was a difficult situation.

However, her remarks caused a strong backlash on social media. Many Kenyans criticized her strongly, saying she was insensitive and disrespectful.

Others told her to respect ordinary citizens and understand that not everyone lives a luxurious life.

The debate continued online, with many people calling for leaders’ families to be more careful with their public comments.
