A man by the name Wycliffe Majinga from Vihiga County is currently suffering serious injuries on his face after allegedly pouring acid on himself following a painful breakup with his girlfriend.
Reports say the incident has left him in critical condition and under close medical care.
According to the report, Wycliffe has been working in a big hotel in Kilimani as a chef. It is said that every month, he used to send almost 90% of his salary to his girlfriend, who was living with another man she claimed was her cousin.
This situation allegedly continued for a long time without Wycliffe knowing the full truth.
However, disagreement between Wycliffe and his girlfriend started on Saturday when he failed to send her money as usual. The girlfriend reportedly became angry and told him that their relationship was over. This moment is said to have deeply affected Wycliffe emotionally.
In a shocking turn of events, Wycliffe allegedly bought acid and poured it on his face while at a basin. He was later rushed to hospital and is now admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where doctors are trying to stabilize his condition.
Experts and community members have urged people, especially men, to avoid making extreme decisions during heartbreak.
They emphasize that no relationship problem should lead to self-harm, and people are encouraged to seek help, talk to friends, or get counseling during emotional distress.
