President William Ruto on Wednesday hosted Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo at State House Nairobi, where the two held discussions on leadership and development.
In a statement shared after the meeting, Chivayo described the Head of State as a leader of “exceptional character and vision,” revealing that their conversation focused on principles of servant leadership and nation-building.
“The President shared with me nuggets of wisdom rooted in the simple but powerful principles of servant leadership that extend a helping hand to those in need,” Chivayo said.
He praised Ruto’s leadership style, terming it as grounded in integrity and compassion, and expressed admiration for his efforts to drive development not only in Kenya but across Africa.
Chivayo further highlighted Kenya’s progress in renewable energy, pointing to geothermal expansion projects in Menengai and Olkaria as examples of the country’s growing global leadership in clean energy.
The businessman noted that, as a young entrepreneur, he draws inspiration from Ruto’s approach to governance and economic transformation, describing him as a Pan-African leader focused on uplifting live.
Chivayo, who built his profile through energy sector deals, has in the past been linked to major government contracts in Zimbabwe and other countries.
His name has also featured in controversies surrounding procurement processes and political connections in his home country.
Despite past scrutiny, his meeting with President Ruto underscores ongoing engagements between Kenya and regional business figures on investment and development matters.
