RIP: Top Politician in Mourning as Wife Dies Days After Giving Birth to Premature Baby, Leaves Behind Three Children

Photos have emerged of a Nairobi waitress who died just days after giving birth to a premature child, sparking grief across her family and community.

The woman, identified as Christine Nancha, 23, was reportedly the wife of a top politician, a detail that has further drawn public attention to the tragic incident.

She passed away shortly after delivering her third child, leaving behind three young children, including a newborn son born at seven months.

Her mother, Fatuma Auma Omondi, described the loss as heartbreaking, especially coming only months after losing her own father.

Nancha, a resident of Katwekera village in Sarang’ombe ward, had traveled upcountry while pregnant to attend her grandfather’s funeral before returning to Nairobi for the delivery.

Omondi said Nancha had begun experiencing chest and rib pain a week after childbirth.
She sought treatment at a hospital and was diagnosed with Pneumonia, receiving injections and medication that initially eased her symptoms.

However, the pain returned, this time spreading to her legs, prompting plans to revisit the hospital the following day.

On the evening of March 29, her condition suddenly worsened.

Friends notified the family, and Omondi rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital, only to find that her daughter had already died.

Hospital staff explained that she had arrived in critical condition and passed away shortly afterward.

Police were involved, and her body was taken to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
The grieving family is now seeking support to arrange her burial and care for the three children left behind.

The incident has shocked the community, with many highlighting the risks associated with postpartum complications, especially following premature births, as investigations into the exact cause of death continue.
