A tragic love story has left a family grieving after a Kenyan man was charged with abusing his girlfriend over 23 hours and killing her just days before her Birthday. The case has drawn attention in both Kenya and Namibia due to its disturbing details and timing.
The suspect, Geoffrey Jeff Kasume, is accused of murdering his 33-year-old girlfriend, Regina Kondombolo, whose body was found inside his house in Windhoek.The incident reportedly happened on Regina’s birthday.
According to information shared online, Regina’s body was discovered at a residence in Otjomuise Extension 2 on Monday, April 6.
The suspect was arrested soon after and taken to court. He was later denied bail and remains in custody.
Kasume, who is 40 years old, faces several serious charges, including murder, violation of a corpse, and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
Prosecutors also invoked Namibia’s Domestic Violence Act, citing the romantic relationship between the two.
The court denied him bail after the state opposed his release, arguing that investigations were still ongoing.He remains in custody at the Windhoek Correctional Facility as the case awaits further hearing.
