Police are investigating an incident in which an 11-year-old girl, Glorious Kaiza, was found murdered in Mombasa's Kisauni Sub-County on April 10, 2026.
According to reports, her body was discovered stuffed in a sack in the Manyani area, with signs of torture, including being blindfolded and tied up.
The police have launched investigations into the incident and have called on members of the public with any information that may assist in the ongoing probe to come forward.
Residents have also expressed concern over rising insecurity in the Coast region, saying several cases of violent crime have left people dead and others injured.
Glorious was a Grade Five pupil at Buriani Primary School. She was last seen playing with her friends on Saturday, March 14, before going missing under unclear circumstances.
Her mother, Elizabeth Barnabas, is devastated and is demanding justice for her daughter’s brutal killing.
She said the girl disappeared while playing with friends and is believed to have been abducted by unknown attackers.
Local leaders who spoke after the incident called for swift action, urging police to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the murder.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
