"Pastor Admired My Beauty and Advised Me to Kill My Husband So He Could Marry Me Easily," Shock as Nairobi Woman Narrates While in Prison

Mary Wambui Nyakei, currently serving a 30-year sentence at Lang’ata Women’s Prison after being convicted of killing her husband, has shared disturbing details of what she says led to the crime.

Her story has sparked widespread reactions, especially due to her claims that a pastor played a key role in influencing her actions.

According to Mary, the incident began while she was still a member of a local church. She says the pastor approached her and openly expressed admiration for her appearance, later telling her that he wanted to marry her.

Mary says she turned down the proposal, explaining that she was already married and had no intention of leaving her husband. She believed the matter was settled, but claims the situation escalated in a shocking way.

She alleges that after revealing she was married, the pastor reacted with laughter and then gave her a knife, instructing her to use it against her husband while he was asleep. She further claims he insisted she stab him multiple times to ensure the act would be successful.

Mary says she later acted on the advice, a decision she now deeply regrets. She was arrested soon after the incident, charged with murder, and later convicted, resulting in a 30-year prison sentence.

Speaking from prison, she expressed deep remorse over her actions and the consequences that followed. She also claimed that since her incarceration, the pastor has not reached out to her or offered any support.

She now cautions others to be vigilant and avoid following dangerous or manipulative instructions, regardless of who gives them.
