A Nairobi-based single mother is struggling to come to terms with a disturbing incident involving her young son, who allegedly accessed her phone while she was asleep and shared her Telegram photos online. According to her account, she went to bed as usual, unaware that anything unusual would happen during the night.
She says that while she was fast asleep, her son quietly woke up and took her phone without her knowledge. Since the phone was protected with a fingerprint lock, it is alleged that the child used her finger to unlock it.
The mother further claims that the boy then went through her phone gallery and came across her Telegram videos. Shockingly, he is said to have selected some of them and posted them on social media platforms.
After doing so, he reportedly returned the phone to its original position and went back to sleep as if nothing had happened.
The woman only discovered the incident in the morning after receiving a flood of calls and messages from friends and acquaintances who had already seen the videos circulating online.
She says the situation has caused her severe emotional distress and embarrassment, especially because the videos were never meant to be shared publicly.
She is now questioning what could have led her son to act in such a manner and is seeking advice from Kenyans on how to handle the matter both online and within the family setting.
In response, many social media users have advised her to strengthen her phone security and have a serious conversation with her son to understand his behaviour.
Others have urged her to act quickly by reporting the matter and requesting the removal of the images from social media platforms.
