“Mimi Siwezi Ishi Na Stress, Heri Tu Nikufe,” Drama in Bungoma as Man Commits Suicide After His Wife Was Taken Away by Village Elder

In Bungoma County, residents woke up to deep shock and sadness after a man identified as Wycliffe Opiyo died by suicide following a painful family dispute. Reports from local residents indicate that Opiyo’s wife and three children were allegedly taken away from his home by a village elder, leaving him very distressed.

According to members of the community, there have been growing concerns about some village elders who are accused of interfering with family homes.

Residents claim that in some cases, elders take away women from their husbands, only for the relationships to later break down after a few months, leaving families in confusion and pain.

On the day of the incident, Opiyo reportedly returned home from his daily work only to find that his wife and children were no longer there.

Heartbroken and overwhelmed by stress, he is said to have expressed deep emotional pain over the situation. Later, news spread that he had taken his own life, shocking the entire village.

Residents say the incident has left the community in mourning and fear. Many people have strongly condemned the actions of some village elders, calling for urgent investigations and justice for the deceased man.

Local leaders and members of the public are now urging authorities to step in and address the growing concerns of family interference in the area.

They say such incidents should be prevented before more lives are lost and more families are destroyed.
