Junet Warns Gachagua to Stay Away as ODM Defends Zoning Plan

Junet Mohamed has warned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to keep off ODM politics, saying the party is united and not worried about outside interference.

Junet spoke in Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County during a fundraising event. He said ODM is comfortable with its decision to work within the broad-based government and has no regrets.

He also defended ODM’s “zoning” system, saying the party’s strong regions should remain under its control and should not be interfered with by other political leaders.

Ahmed Abdullahi, the Council of Governors chairperson, also warned what he called party rebels, saying their intentions were already known even before the passing of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

At the same event, Gladys Wanga, who is the Homa Bay Governor and ODM national chairperson, also told Gachagua to stay away from ODM matters. She encouraged young people to support and defend the party.

Wanga also said ODM plans to hold national youth meetings across the country to collect ideas from young people and include them in decision-making.

Leaders emphasized that ODM remains united and focused on strengthening its support base as political activity continues ahead of future elections.
