"I Had Mercy on Majembe, That’s Why I Let Him Defeat Me," Mbavu Destroyer Speaks While in a Wheelchair After Painful Loss

Heartbreaking photos have emerged showing Mbavu Destroyer in a wheelchair following his technical knockout loss to Majembe during their much-publicised Vurugu boxing match held at the Kasarani Indoor Sports Stadium.

However, speaking while on a wheelchair, Mbavu narrated that he had mercy on Majembe and that is why he allowed himself to be beaten.

He claimed that if he wanted to win, he could have knocked Majembe out with just one punch, but due to his kind heart, he chose not to.

The amateur boxing showdown took place on Saturday, April 4, and attracted massive attention from fans across the country.

The fight had generated excitement for weeks after it was announced by media personality Oga Obinna, with politicians and businessmen reportedly contributing to the prize money and sponsoring tickets for fans to attend the event.

Tension surrounding the fight had already been building even before the match day.
During the first weigh-in on March 25, the situation turned chaotic when Majembe confronted Mbavu Destroyer, leading to a near physical altercation that forced security officers to step in and restore order.

On the night of the fight, Mbavu entered the arena first looking confident and ready, while Majembe joined him later to loud cheers from the crowd.

The match was intense and competitive, but it ended dramatically in the fourth round when Majembe landed a powerful punch that left Mbavu unable to continue.

The punch quickly became a subject of debate among fans, with some questioning whether the blow had landed in a legal target area or below the belt, which is not allowed in boxing.

Despite receiving immediate medical attention in the ring, Mbavu was unable to recover, and the referees awarded Majembe victory through a technical knockout.

Shortly after the fight, Mbavu shared a video on social media appearing to be recorded at a hospital.

In the video, he was seen being pushed in a wheelchair and appeared visibly frustrated about the outcome of the match.

He suggested that he had suffered an injury during the fight and complained that boxing had turned into hitting opponents in prohibited areas, adding that he would have fought differently if he had known such tactics would be used.

The Vurugu boxing event remains one of the most talked-about amateur boxing matches in recent times, with many fans continuing to debate the controversial punch that ended the fight.
