During an emotional interview with Tales Extra, Jane Kamau from Kiambu County narrated her painful experience after traveling to Saudi Arabia in search of employment.
She said she left Kenya with high hopes after being promised a house help job through an agency, believing the opportunity would help her support her family financially.
However, Kamau explained that things took a shocking turn upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. Instead of the domestic work she had been assured of, she was informed that her actual assignment was completely different and disturbing.
She alleged that she was told she would be required to stay in an area meant for dogs, a revelation that left her terrified, confused, and deeply shocked.
According to her, none of these details were ever disclosed during the recruitment process in Kenya.
Kamau further claimed that the conditions at the residence were extremely frightening. She said she encountered dangerous animals, including large snakes, within the compound and was allegedly instructed to remain around them and even feed them.
She described the entire experience as inhumane and far from what she had agreed to before leaving the country.
Feeling trapped and deceived, Kamau said she was left with no support after the agency that facilitated her travel failed to assist her once she arrived abroad.
