William Ruto’s UDA Orders Emurua Dikirr Primaries Disputes to Be Filed Within 24 Hours

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has directed all aspirants disputing the Emurua Dikirr party primaries results to submit their complaints within 24 hours.

The party’s Elections and Nominations Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) said it will handle all complaints arising from the nomination process and ensure that grievances are resolved within the party framework.

According to a statement issued on Friday, March 27, aspirants who are dissatisfied with the outcome were instructed to file their disputes electronically within the set timeframe.

“All electoral disputes should be lodged before the ENDRC within twenty-four (24) hours upon declaration of results or nomination decision giving rise to the dispute,” the statement read in part.

The committee further stated that complaints can be submitted through the official email channel provided by the party.

The directive also applies to aspirants contesting the Porro Ward Member of County Assembly seat ahead of upcoming by-elections.

The UDA National Elections Board had earlier declared David Kipsang Keter as the winner of the Emurua Dikirr primaries after he secured 13,759 votes.

He narrowly beat Bernard Kipkoech Ng’eno, who garnered 13,394 votes in a closely contested race.

Ng’eno had disputed the outcome, alleging voter bribery, repeat voting, and irregularities in some polling stations. However, the UDA National Elections Board dismissed the claims, insisting that the process was free and fair.

Keter, who has made several attempts at the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat in previous elections, is now expected to face further political decisions from opponents, with some supporters urging his rival to consider running as an independent candidate.

The dispute resolution process is now expected to determine whether any changes will be made or if the declared results will stand.
