A woman identified as Anne has opened up about a painful experience that made her stop attending church completely.
Speaking during an interview, Anne explained that the incident left her deeply hurt and confused, to the point that she no longer wants to hear the name of the pastor she once respected.
According to Anne, she used to serve as an usher in a local ministry church in Nairobi. She said she was very committed to the church and always tried to serve faithfully in different activities.
During that time, her 19-year-old daughter was also involved in helping with small duties within the church. Anne explained that her daughter had been given a simple role which included helping with tasks such as washing the pastor’s clothes.
Anne narrated that one Sunday evening after the church service, the pastor called both of them aside. He told them that God had spoken to him and that he had an important message meant specifically for them.
Because they trusted him as their spiritual leader, Anne said they followed him behind the church building without suspecting anything unusual.
However, Anne claimed that what followed left them shocked and deeply disturbed. She alleged that the pastor mistreated them and later warned them not to talk about the incident with anyone in the church.
According to Anne, the pastor threatened that if they revealed what had happened, he would place a curse on them and their lives would become very difficult.
Anne said the incident left her feeling embarrassed and emotionally hurt. Because of the experience, she decided to quit the church completely.
She added that the situation broke the trust she once had and made it difficult for her to continue being part of the congregation.
Anne now hopes that by sharing her story, other people will be careful and speak out whenever they face mistreatment in any place.
