Ruto Orders Change of Contractor for Alliance High School Project, Raises Budget to KSh60 Million

William Ruto has directed the principal of Alliance High School to replace the contractor handling a major infrastructure project at the institution.

The directive was issued during the school’s centenary celebrations, where the President also announced an increase in funding for the ongoing classroom construction project.

According to Ruto, the government will raise the project’s budget from KSh35 million to KSh60 million, but only on the condition that the current contractor is replaced to speed up completion.

“And we are enhancing the budget from KSh35 million to KSh60 million, with only one caveat — that we change the contractor,” President Ruto said while addressing guests at the event.

The Head of State explained that the decision was aimed at ensuring faster delivery of the project and improved learning infrastructure at the prestigious institution.

Other Developments at Alliance Institutions
During the celebrations, the President highlighted several government-funded developments at Alliance institutions.

These include:
Completion of a new dormitory
Improvements to the school dining hall
Upgrades to the internal road network serving both Alliance High School and Alliance Girls' High School

Ruto also launched a nationwide solarisation programme for basic education institutions, a plan aimed at lowering electricity costs and ensuring schools have reliable power for learning facilities.

Celebrating 100 Years

The event marked 100 years since the establishment of Alliance High School, one of Kenya’s oldest and most prestigious secondary schools.

During the celebration, the government pledged continued investment in education infrastructure to strengthen learning institutions across the country.
