A Nairobi woman identified as Wilkister has shared a heartbreaking story during an interview with a local radio station, where she narrated how she was allegedly abused in her home and is now calling for justice and support from the public and authorities.
Wilkister said she lost her mother when she was only 13 years old. After her mother’s death, her father remarried, and she was left living with her stepmother and four stepbrothers.
She explained that life became emotionally difficult for her after the loss of her mother, and she struggled to adjust in the new family setup.
She further stated that due to stress and emotional pain, she turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism.
According to her, she began drinking heavily and sometimes returned home late, often in an intoxicated state.
Wilkister alleged that one day, after coming home while drunk, she experienced abuse from her four stepbrothers. She said the incident left her confused, fearful, and unable to immediately report the matter to her father or authorities.
She added that fear, shame, and emotional pressure made her keep silent for some time.
She also said she has not been able to tell her friends about what happened because she fears judgment and embarrassment. She is now asking for advice on what steps she should take and where she can get help.
Following her story, many Kenyans on social media have urged her to seek medical support, counseling services, and report the matter to the relevant authorities so that investigations can be carried out and justice can be pursued.
