A tragic event shocked Kitengela county on Sunday when a 14-year-old boy was attacked and killed. The incident began after two women pointed at him and loudly accused him of being a thief.
The boy’s mother said she had sent him to a local MPESA shop to withdraw money before the horrific event. She expressed her sadness, saying she never imagined such a tragedy would happen to her child.
Witnesses reported that the two women took the boy’s phone. When he cried for help, they shouted “thief” at him. Nearby police officers, who were on patrol, reportedly did not intervene.
The boy was attacked by a group of men, and his body was set on fire afterward.
Community members have warned that false theft accusations are becoming more frequent. They advise people to respond responsibly in such cases and report crimes to authorities rather than harming innocent individuals.
Officials have not provided any updates on the case. Many people, both locally and online, have expressed anger over the incident and are calling for the women involved to be arrested and face justice.
The death of the young boy has left the community grieving and demanding answers.
