President William Ruto has announced a new round of appointments and reappointments across several government institutions in a gazette notice released on Friday.
The changes affect multiple state agencies and boards responsible for key sectors of national development.
One of the notable decisions was the reappointment of Brown Ondego as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority board.
Ondego will serve another three-year term. He previously served as Managing Director of the Kenya Ports Authority and remains a prominent figure in Kenya’s transport and aviation sector.
President Ruto also renewed the appointment of Emilio Mugo as Chairperson of the National Environmental Management Authority board for another three-year term.
Meanwhile, Raphael Munavu secured another term as Chairperson of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority board, which oversees the development of the Konza Smart City project.
In the tourism sector, Francis Gichaba was reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Tourism Board. The government hopes continuity will help strengthen tourism marketing and attract more international visitors.
At the same time, Julius Nyabundi received another appointment as Chairperson of the Kenya National Examinations Council for a four-year term beginning March 13.
Former Nyatike MP Edick Omondi Anyanga also retained his position as Chairperson of the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority board for another three years.
The President also renewed appointments within the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, retaining board members including Anwar Oloitiptip, Shadrack Tulon, Abdikahiya Maalim, Nasra Ibrahim Ibren, and Jeremiah Apalia Lomari.
Several Cabinet Secretaries also made appointments within their ministries. John Mbadi named a new disciplinary committee for the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, chaired by Christopher Mwangi Ahamed.
Elsewhere, Hassan Joho appointed Yahya Mohamed as a member of the Kenya Maritime Authority board. Meanwhile, Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya appointed Roline Kendi as Secretary of the Kenya Defence Forces Pension Appeals Committee.
Additional appointments were made across other institutions including the Kenya Veterinary Board, the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, and several national polytechnics.
The government says the changes are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and governance across public institutions.
