A heartbreaking incident has left residents of Dagoreti North in Nairobi County in shock after a 10-year-old boy was brutally killed by a mob. The teenager was stoned to death before his body was later set ablaze in a disturbing turn of events.
Reports indicate that the boy had been sent by his mother to run an errand at a nearby shop. While on his way and using his phone, two women on a motorcycle reportedly approached him from behind and grabbed the device.
As the boy attempted to pursue them and call for help, the women allegedly shouted “thief,” attracting the attention of members of the public nearby.
Before the boy could explain himself, a man hit him on the head with a heavy object, causing him to collapse and lose consciousness.
Moments later, an angry mob descended on him, pelting him with stones and killing him on the spot. In a shocking twist, the same women who had raised the alarm are said to have poured petrol on his body, after which another man set it on fire.
Police have since begun investigations into the incident and are urging anyone with useful information to assist in the case. Authorities say more details will be shared as inquiries continue.
