ODM Confirms Jamhuri Grounds as Venue for Special Delegates Convention

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has officially announced the location for its upcoming Special Delegates Convention (SDC), scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026.

In a statement released on Thursday, Deputy Secretary General Catherine Omanyo confirmed that preparations for the event are nearly complete.

She assured party members that all delegates have already been notified about the agenda and logistical arrangements.

According to the party, the convention will be held at Jamhuri Grounds along Ngong Road in Nairobi. ODM reiterated its commitment to its founding values and principles, emphasizing that the party’s ideology will continue to guide its decisions. The statement also warmly welcomed delegates to attend the event.

Omanyo also addressed misinformation circulating ahead of the convention, clarifying that the party leader is not responsible for signing notices for such meetings, including the SDC.

She noted that the official notice was properly issued on March 6 through newspapers, the party’s website, and social media platforms, in line with the required 21-day notice period.

ODM stated that the convention will focus on key discussions shaping the party’s future, especially as the country moves closer to the 2027 General Election.

The event is expected to play a significant role in internal leadership decisions and strategic planning.

The party further reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, discipline, and adherence to its constitution.

The convention is anticipated to draw widespread attention, bringing together delegates, officials, and supporters for what is seen as a critical moment in ODM’s political journey.
