Malala Hits Out at Ruto Over Gachagua Murder Claims, Calls for Probe

Cleophas Malala, the deputy party leader of DCP, has strongly criticized William Ruto over remarks linking former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to a murder case.

According to reports, President Ruto alleged that Gachagua was connected to the death of a blogger identified as Maureen Kinyua, who reportedly died under unclear circumstances while pregnant.

The President’s claims quickly drew reactions from several leaders, with many urging caution in addressing such sensitive matters. Malala questioned why Ruto chose Gachagua as his running mate if he believed he was capable of such serious crimes.

He further called on the President to order a thorough investigation into the blogger’s death, accusing him of making insensitive remarks.

Meanwhile, the DCP party issued a separate statement disputing the claims, stating that Kinyua died following a hit-and-run accident.

According to the party, the driver involved in the incident was arrested and later charged in court.

In response, Gachagua appeared to dismiss the allegations indirectly, criticizing the President for relying on information from bloggers instead of conducting proper due diligence.

The unfolding exchange highlights growing political tensions, with calls for clarity and accountability continuing to dominate public debate.
