Former Deputy President and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader, Rigathi Gachagua, has issued a stern warning to the Luo community regarding their political alliance with President William Ruto.
During a church service, Gachagua claimed that former Cabinet Secretary Rafael Tuju is being harassed by President Ruto, who he alleges is targeting Tuju’s Karen properties with the intention of acquiring them through proxies.
Quoting remarks shared by renowned blogger Douglas Marigiri, Gachagua stated that he is aware of the methods allegedly being used to pressure Tuju and claimed that interference in the affairs of loyal political allies is already affecting members of the Luo community.
He added that the people of Luo Nyanza may face hardships similar to those experienced by residents of Mt Kenya under the current administration, despite their significant support for President Ruto during the election.
The DCP leader’s comments come amid growing political tensions and realignments ahead of upcoming electoral cycles, highlighting concerns over property disputes and the treatment of political figures in Kenya.
