Edwin Sifuna Says Nyanza Is Not Shifting Politically, Dismisses Alliance Claims

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has dismissed claims that there is growing support for new political alliances in the Nyanza region, saying such reports are misleading and far from the truth.

Speaking firmly, Sifuna said the region remains politically strong and cannot be easily influenced by what he described as a false narrative being pushed to create confusion.

He warned residents not to be swayed by those promoting what is being called a broad-based political approach.

According to the senator, the idea of shifting loyalty is being exaggerated to create an illusion of unity, yet it does not reflect what is happening on the ground.

He insisted that the people of Nyanza are politically aware and can easily tell the difference between genuine leadership and opportunistic politics.

Sifuna also noted that claims suggesting the region is divided are not only wrong but are meant to weaken its political voice. He urged residents to be cautious and not believe everything they hear, especially messages that seem designed to mislead the public.

The senator expressed confidence in the region’s political direction, saying Nyanza has always remained loyal to leaders and movements that reflect the people’s values and interests.

He further emphasized the need to protect this unity, warning that outside forces trying to interfere with the region’s politics should be ignored.

Sifuna called on citizens to stay alert, seek accurate information, and continue supporting leaders who have a proven record of serving their interests.

His remarks come at a time when political realignments are being discussed across the country.

However, his position shows that Nyanza remains firm and is not ready to embrace new alliances that do not align with its long-standing political identity.
