Drama at Nairobi’s Pumwani Maternity Hospital as Pregnant Woman Beats Male Midwife After Question Turns Sour

In Nairobi’s Pumwani Maternity Hospital, chaos broke out after a heavily pregnant woman reportedly got into a physical confrontation with a male midwife, according to reports circulating on social media. The incident caused panic among both hospital staff and patients.

Witnesses say the woman suddenly attacked the male midwife, prompting his colleagues to quickly rush in and try to restore order. The situation escalated fast, creating tension in the maternity ward as people nearby watched in shock.

It is reported that the misunderstanding began when the midwife asked the woman about the type of clothes that would be used to wrap her newborn baby.

When she failed to respond, he allegedly suggested that in the absence of proper baby clothes, a newspaper could be used instead. This remark is said to have angered the woman, leading her to react aggressively.

Hospital staff eventually intervened and separated the two, calming the situation. No serious injuries were reported, although the incident disrupted normal activities in the ward.

The video of the altercation has since spread widely on social media, sparking mixed reactions online, with some criticizing the midwife’s comment while others blamed the woman’s reaction.
