An autopsy has confirmed the cause of death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno following last week’s tragic helicopter crash that shocked the nation.
Government pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor reported that the lawmaker died from multiple injuries sustained during the crash, including severe burns and blunt force trauma.
The postmortem examination was conducted at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi, in the presence of family members and independent pathologists.
Before the examination, mourners and journalists waited anxiously for answers. Dr Oduor noted that the injuries were consistent with a high-impact crash followed by an intense fire.
“There were multiple traumatic injuries affecting vital organs. The burns were extensive,” he said.
Ng’eno, who served as MP for Emurua Dikirr, was among six people who perished when the helicopter went down in Nandi County, under circumstances that remain under investigation.
The crash sent shockwaves across the country, with leaders from across the political divide mourning the outspoken legislator, known for his bold stance on matters affecting his constituents.
Following the release of the autopsy results, the family called for a thorough investigation into the crash. They urged aviation authorities to expedite findings to provide clarity on the fatal incident.
Meanwhile, political leaders continued to visit the MP’s Karen residence to offer condolences ahead of his burial.
In Narok County, preparations are underway for a series of memorial events expected to draw thousands of mourners.
National Police Service and aviation investigators have launched a detailed probe into the crash, analyzing debris and flight data to determine whether mechanical failure or weather conditions contributed.
As the country awaits the final investigation report, Kenyans continue to mourn a leader many described as bold, outspoken, and deeply committed to public service.
The autopsy findings now offer painful clarity on how the outspoken legislator lost his life in the devastating crash.
