Speaking during an interview, a 74-year-old Grandy has opened up on some of the challenges she is facing as a sex worker. She revealed that life has become very hard, and things are no longer like they used to be.
In a statement she made, the elderly woman said that in the past, clients used to pay well for her services. Even amounts like Ksh 20 per night were considered good money at the time.
However, she explained that nowadays, younger girls have brought a lot of competition in the market. As a result, clients no longer pay the same money, and surviving in the business has become very challenging.
“Back then, I could manage my life with the money I earned. Things were simple, and clients respected older women like me,” she said.
“It is really hard now. Things have changed a lot, and we no longer get the money we used to earn before,” she added.
Her statement has sparked a stir on social media, where many Kenyans urged her to stop the work she is doing. Several people commented that at her age, it would be better to retire and focus on her health, while others asked her to repent and seek a safer life.
The discussion online has highlighted the challenges that older sex workers face today, especially as the business becomes more competitive.
