In Lavington, Nairobi County, on Monday morning, a man named Edward Vanisoli collapsed and died at a construction site after his girlfriend dumped him for another man because he could not give her Ksh 10,000 for make-up.
According to his colleagues, his girlfriend visited him at the construction site and started lecturing him, saying that she regretted being in a relationship with a man who could not afford to give her money for make-up.
At that moment, Edward only had Ksh 3,000, which he handed to his girlfriend, promising to work hard at the construction site to raise the remaining Ksh 7,000. However, she refused and said she would look for a richer man who was not poor like him.
After hearing that, he fainted and died. His body was later taken to the morgue.
Kenyans have reacted strongly to the incident, expressing sadness and shock over the tragic death.
