Sad as 19-Year-Old College Student Abused and Infected with HIV by Her Sponsor, Told to Pass the Virus to Friends

In Kakamega County, a family has taken legal action against a 47-year-old businessman for allegedly abusing their daughter and infecting her with HIV. The young woman, who is 19 years old and in college, is now facing serious health and emotional challenges.

According to the parents, they had been struggling to pay for their daughter’s education because they did not have jobs.

The businessman offered to support her schooling, promising financial help. However, instead of helping, he allegedly abused their daughter.

The tearful parents said that last Friday, their daughter returned home in pain, crying. She revealed that the man had forced her to have sexual relations with him and informed her that he was HIV positive.

He reportedly told her that since he was supporting her education, she had no choice but to comply.

The parents added that their daughter was instructed by the man not to go to the hospital.

He allegedly told her that she would receive ARVs from doctors and that she should pass the virus to her male friends so they would “also be safe,” a shocking claim that has left the family devastated.

The matter is now under investigation by local police, and authorities are expected to release more details as the case unfolds.

The family is calling for justice and protection for their daughter, highlighting the dangers of exploiting vulnerable young adults under the guise of help.
