Controversy continues within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) as social media influencer Robert Alai launched a sharp attack on Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga over alleged obstruction in party leadership decisions.
In a post on Facebook, Alai accused Governor Wanga of playing a double role within ODM at a time when unity is crucial.
He claimed that Wanga presents herself as loyal to the party leadership while simultaneously slowing down key internal decisions, creating confusion and weakening the party’s position.
The dispute centers on the potential removal of ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna. Alai questioned why Wanga is allegedly blocking efforts to push through changes, arguing that such actions undermine the party’s cohesion, especially amid ongoing negotiations within the broader government arrangement.
The situation underscores deepening tensions within ODM as different factions vie for influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
