Rally Postponed? Sifuna Breaks Silence With Evening Message to Kenyans After Receiving Threats from Ruto's Allies Over Planned Kakamega Rally

On Thursday, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna sent a message to Kenyans after threats from allies of President William Ruto. The threats were reportedly led by leaders from Kakamega County who warned him against holding a rally in the region.

In a statement, Kakamega Deputy Governor Suvula said the county is a stronghold of the broad-based government leadership.

He warned that Sifuna is not welcome to organize any rally there. He further cautioned him not to blame anyone if he decides to go ahead with the planned meeting.

However, Sifuna later addressed Kenyans through an evening message, responding to the threats and speculation that the rally might be postponed.

He made it clear that there are no plans to cancel the event.

Sifuna maintained that on Sunday, he and other leaders will be in Kakamega town to hold the rally as earlier planned. He said they will not be intimidated by anyone and are ready to meet residents and share their message.
