Orders From Above? Sifuna in Trouble as DCI Receives Message to Arrest Him and Take Him to Court on Monday, Reason Revealed

ODM Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, is reportedly facing serious trouble after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) received instructions to arrest him.

According to sources, the orders require that Sifuna be taken to court on Monday to face charges over incitement and allegedly spreading false information about President William Ruto.

Reports indicate that a political leader aligned with President Ruto raised concerns over Sifuna’s recent statements. The leader claims that Sifuna is among opposition figures whose remarks could create tension ahead of the 2027 general elections. These statements are seen as capable of causing unrest and disturbing peace in the country.

In addition to incitement, the DCI has reportedly been asked to charge Sifuna for making predictions about the 2027 elections. The source argues that such comments are unnecessary and could mislead the public, potentially causing confusion and unrest among voters.

They described these utterances as “harmful” and warned that they could spark chaos if not addressed promptly.

Sifuna has been vocal in criticizing President Ruto’s administration, pointing out what he calls mismanagement and unfair policies.

While opposition leaders are allowed to express their opinions, authorities believe some of Sifuna’s statements may cross legal boundaries, especially if they threaten public order or spread misinformation.

Political analysts note that Kenya’s electoral period is sensitive, and remarks by influential leaders are closely monitored.

The arrest of Sifuna, if it proceeds as ordered, is expected to draw attention from both supporters and critics, sparking debates about freedom of expression versus maintaining peace during election campaigns.

The situation is still developing, and more details are expected as Monday approaches when Sifuna is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges outlined by the DCI.
