Oburu Odinga Chairs Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Family Meeting Amid Speculations

Dr. Oburu Oginga Odinga, ODM party leader and Siaya County Senator, chaired a family meeting of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga family on Sunday, bringing relatives together in a peaceful gathering.

Notably absent was Kenya's Permanent Representative to UNEP and the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Ida Odinga, sparking curiosity among observers. However, sources suggest her absence was likely due to prior commitments rather than personal reasons.

Kisumu County Women Representative Ruth Odinga shared photos of the gathering on her social media, expressing gratitude for her brother’s guidance and the unity he fosters within the family.

“I spent a peaceful Sunday with family, hosted by my brother, Dr. Oburu Odinga. Grateful for his love, guidance, and the steady hand that has always kept us united,” she wrote.

Also present was Winnie Odinga, daughter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, dispelling speculation of tension between her and her uncle.

Dr. Oburu’s wives, including Judith Oburu, attended the meeting, highlighting the inclusive nature of the family gathering.

The meeting comes amid occasional public speculation about divisions within one of Kenya’s most prominent political families.

Observers noted that the event reflected the Odinga family’s efforts to maintain unity while balancing busy public and private schedules.
