A man from Nyeri County identified as Joseph has gone viral after publicly thanking his Chinese boss for showing him great kindness during a very difficult moment in his life.
Joseph shared his story online, where he praised his boss, Wung Li, for clearing the hospital bill for his firstborn son and also extending his wife’s maternity leave.
According to Joseph, the help came at a time when he was completely stressed and confused. He revealed that as his wife’s delivery date was approaching, he did not have enough money to cater for hospital expenses.
The situation left him worried because he wanted the best care for his wife and unborn child, but his financial situation was not good.
In a statement he shared, Joseph said that while he was still thinking deeply about what to do, his boss stepped in without informing him.
He later learned that the hospital bill had already been fully paid. The news shocked him and left him emotional, as he had not expected such support from his employer.
Joseph also disclosed that his wife works as a secretary at his boss’s company. After giving birth, the boss went ahead and added more maternity leave days for her, allowing her to fully recover and take care of the newborn baby without pressure.
Joseph said he never imagined his boss would go out of his way to help his family in such a big way. He thanked him openly and prayed to God to bless him more.
Many Kenyans online have reacted to the story, praising the Chinese boss and saying the act shows that humanity and kindness still exist beyond race or nationality.
