"Nothing Will Happen if You Arrest This Man, We Are Tired of Him," Shock as Kenya Kwanza Leaders Send Message to DCI, Demand Uhuru's Arrest

Several leaders allied to President William Ruto have caused mixed reactions after calling for the arrest of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Thursday, as reported by K24, the leaders accused Uhuru of trying to undermine President Ruto ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the report, some United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmakers claimed that the former president has been interfering with the current government.

They alleged that his actions are aimed at weakening President Ruto’s leadership before the next polls. The leaders said they are tired of what they described as constant political attacks and behind-the-scenes influence.

In a strong statement, the lawmakers said they now want Uhuru to be arrested and held accountable. They called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to take action without fear.

Some of them were quoted saying that nothing would happen if the former president is arrested, adding that the law should apply equally to everyone regardless of status.

However, their remarks have sparked heated debate online. Many Kenyans took to social media to defend Uhuru Kenyatta. Some accused the Kenya Kwanza leaders of trying to intimidate him and silence opposing voices.

Others argued that political differences should not lead to threats of arrest without clear evidence of wrongdoing.

The development has once again highlighted the growing political tension in the country as leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
