On Sunday, a woman from Kisii County, identified as Catherine, shocked many Kenyans after making a bold and emotional confession on social media.
The story, which she shared on her TikTok account, quickly went viral and sparked heated reactions from the public.
According to Catherine, she got a job as a domestic worker for a wealthy woman living in Karen, Nairobi County, on September 8, 2025. She revealed that her agreed monthly salary was KSh 11,000.
Catherine explained that for the first two months, October and November, everything went on well, and she received her salary without any problems.
However, things changed in December. Catherine said that on December 17, while she was washing utensils in the house, a thermos flask accidentally slipped from her hands, fell down, and got damaged. She stated that she immediately informed her employer about the accident.
Instead of understanding, Catherine claimed that her boss became very angry and aggressive. She alleged that the boss slapped her three times and insulted her, saying that poor girls do not know the value of expensive items and cannot take good care of property. She further claimed that her employer vowed not to pay her salary for that month.
Catherine added that she tried to beg and plead with her boss, asking for forgiveness, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. According to her, the boss insisted that the cost of the broken thermos was equal to her salary. She also alleged that even on December 25, she was not paid any money.
Feeling frustrated, angry, and helpless, Catherine said she called her mother to explain what had happened.
She claimed that her mother advised her to urinate in tea that was meant for her boss’s child, give it to the child, and then leave the house immediately without being noticed.
Catherine confessed that she followed the advice and left the house shortly after. However, she now says she deeply regrets her actions. She revealed that she is living in fear and panic, worried that the child might fall sick because of what she did.
In her message, Catherine asked Kenyans for forgiveness, saying she made a bad decision due to anger and frustration. She also asked for advice and appealed to anyone with a job opportunity to help her start a new life.
