A solemn atmosphere enveloped Milimani Comprehensive School during a requiem Mass held for teachers who died in a tragic accident while returning from the KUPPET Nairobi branch elections.
The victims included Jacob Mwathi King’oo and Faith Ngunge Nguma, with Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris also remembering Nicholas Omondi Arem, a teacher at Ngara Girls Secondary School, who lost his life in the same crash.
Passaris, speaking on X (formerly Twitter), extended her condolences to the families, colleagues, and students affected.
“My prayers are with their families, colleagues, loved ones, and especially their students, who are deeply shattered by their loss. May the good Lord rest their souls in peace,” she said.
The deceased were remembered as dedicated, disciplined, and hardworking educators whose mentorship and leadership left a lasting impact. Colleagues and friends paid tribute, affirming that their contributions will not be forgotten.
The teachers’ bus was involved in a fatal road accident while returning from the KUPPET elections.
Two teachers died instantly at the scene, while more than 20 others sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital, with most discharged after treatment for minor injuries.
