Several politicians have raised concerns after reports emerged that some opposition leaders may have staged a teargas incident during a Nairobi rally.
The group, led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, along with Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Martha Karua, allegedly used teargas on themselves and falsely accused the government of the act.
Politicians such as Rodgers Mpuru have openly condemned this behavior, calling it dangerous and misleading to the public.
According to sources, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been informed about the matter and is preparing to summon the opposition leaders for questioning.
Officials aim to investigate how the teargas was obtained and why it was allegedly used on innocent Kenyans during a public rally. The DCI’s involvement shows the seriousness with which authorities are treating this matter.
The politicians further dismissed claims by Gachagua and his team that police officers were responsible for dispersing the crowds with teargas.
They insisted that the opposition leaders were behind the incident, not the government led by President William Ruto.
According to them, such actions only serve to create confusion and unrest among residents attending public events.
As the investigation unfolds, Kenyans are watching closely to see how the DCI will handle the situation and whether the opposition leaders will be held accountable for allegedly misleading the public.
This incident has sparked heated debates about political responsibility and the safety of citizens during public rallies.
