Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is facing serious allegations after claims surfaced that he hired goons to attack one of his supporters in Kisumu.
The supporter, a boda boda rider, was reportedly killed in the attack. Social media sources allege that the MP tried to shift the blame onto the government, stirring public debate online.
One unverified report online says police have been directed to arrest Babu Owino and ensure he is taken to court on murder charges.
However, there has been no official communication from the police confirming the arrest or any formal charges so far. Many Kenyans are now waiting for authorities to give clear information about the matter.
On the other hand, the lawmaker has denied the allegations. Instead, he has accused Raymond Omolo of being the one who hired goons to attack his supporter. Babu Owino claimed that the only mistake the supporter made was openly supporting him politically.
On his Facebook page, Babu Owino stated that the PS must “pay for that,” a statement that attracted many reactions on social media.
Some Kenyans are demanding immediate investigations, while others are calling for leaders to avoid blame games and allow police to carry out thorough and fair investigations.
As the situation continues to unfold, pressure is mounting on security agencies to establish the truth behind the tragic incident.
