Ex-Raila Long-Serving Aide Silas Jakakimba Joins UDA to Challenge Millie Odhiambo in Suba North

The political battle lines have officially been drawn in Suba North constituency with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's long-serving aide, Silas Jakakimba, officially joining the race.

On Wednesday, as President William Ruto hosted UDA party aspirants at State House, Jakakimba was among those who attended the meeting.
Donning the yellow UDA party colours, Jakakimba is signaling serious intent as he bids to unseat the incumbent, Millie Odhiambo.

Millie Odhiambo, one of Kenya’s longest-serving MPs, is seeking a fourth straight term as Suba North MP and the fifth overall since she entered politics. The incumbent, who is also the National Assembly Minority Whip, is expected to defend her seat on an ODM party ticket.

The political showdown between Jakakimba, once Raila’s trusted aide, and a veteran in the game, promises to be a titanic battle. Jakakimba hopes to make a significant political statement in Luo Nyanza region politics.
