Fresh details have emerged indicating that President William Ruto is not happy with the recent decision by ODM to remove Edwin Sifuna from his position as the party’s Secretary General.
According to sources said to be close to the President, he was shocked by the move and did not expect the party to make such a major decision without wider consultations.
The sources claim that the Head of State believes the removal may affect the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that had earlier been signed when Sifuna was still serving as the Secretary General.
The President is reportedly concerned about how the agreement will now be implemented without Sifuna, who was a key signatory.
Those close to him say he feels the situation has now become complicated and may create challenges in moving forward smoothly.
Following the reports, President Ruto is said to have planned a meeting with top ODM leaders to seek answers.
Among those expected to explain the decision are Oburu Odinga, who is considered a senior figure in the party, Gladys Wanga, the party Chairperson, and Junet Mohamed.
The President reportedly wants clarity on why Sifuna was removed and what the decision means for the working relationship between the two sides.
Political analysts say the development could affect the current political alignment if not handled carefully.
More details are expected to come out as meetings and consultations continue.
