Kenyan lawyer Ndegwa Njiru is reportedly facing possible legal action following controversial remarks he allegedly made on social media about President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto.
The posts, which have since circulated widely online, are said to have raised concern among authorities.
According to sources familiar with the matter, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are looking into the lawyer’s statements.
Reports indicate that Njiru could be arrested and later charged in court over claims of defamation.
However, by the time of publishing this article, there has been no official public statement confirming the arrest.
The controversy started after the lawyer allegedly shared posts accusing President William Ruto of misusing funds from government health programs, including SHA and Linda Mama.
He further claimed that the money was being used to purchase luxury vehicles. The claims have not been independently verified, and no official evidence has been presented in support of the allegations.
Authorities reportedly consider it inappropriate to link George Ruto to allegations involving government programs, especially if no formal findings have been made. Legal experts say that defamation cases often depend on whether statements made in public can be proven to be true or false in court.
The matter is now expected to trigger public debate about freedom of expression, responsible use of social media, and the limits of public commentary involving family members of political leaders.
More updates will follow as the situation develops.
