A family in Kakamega County is mourning and crying for justice after their daughter, Moreen Mwanike, who was working in Saudi Arabia, was reportedly attacked with acid and allegedly buried alive.
According to the family, they received a shocking phone call from their daughter’s friend. The friend revealed what had happened and even sent a video secretly recorded during the attack. The footage showed Moreen being assaulted and struggling in pain.
In the video, Moreen is seen falling and crying after acid was poured on her. One man, hiding his face with a scarf, is seen holding her leg and attempting to throw her into a dug hole, while filling it with soil. The incident left the family in total shock.
Upon hearing the news, Moreen’s mother reportedly collapsed.
The family is now appealing to the Kenyan government and relevant authorities to intervene and provide assistance to bring justice for Moreen.
