Ruto and Muhoho Kenyatta Spotted Together at State House During Youth Awards

Nairobi, Kenya — President William Ruto shared a notable moment with Muhoho Kenyatta, brother of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, during the Presidential Gold Awards ceremony on Wednesday at State House.

Muhoho attended the event in his capacity as a representative of the International Council of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which oversees youth achievement programs globally.

During his speech, President Ruto paused to recognize Muhoho’s presence, saying, “I am delighted to have my friend and representative, Muhoho Kenyatta, here with us.”

The brief interaction caught the attention of many observers, considering the historically complex political relationship between the current President and the former First Family.

The ceremony celebrated 1,252 young achievers who had fulfilled all the requirements for the prestigious Gold Award, recognizing their resilience, leadership, and dedication.

The President’s Award-Kenya is a youth development program aimed at building life skills, character, and leadership among young people aged 14 to 24.

The initiative is inclusive and non-affiliated with any political, religious, or social group, helping participants discover their potential and pursue their passions.

Participants progress through three levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—completing four core sections, with a Residential Project required at the Gold level.

Since its inception in 1966, the program has produced over 500,000 Gold Awardees, many of whom continue to make meaningful contributions to society.
