A family in Kisii County is mourning after receiving heartbreaking news that their daughter, who was working in Saudi Arabia, has died under very tragic circumstances.
The Kenyan woman was reportedly working as a house help when her female employer accused her of performing witchcraft inside the house.
According to the information shared with the family, the accusation later led to her painful death.
Reports indicate that the woman had traveled abroad hoping to improve her life and support her family back home. Sadly, her journey ended in tragedy.
Her employer allegedly claimed that she caught the Kenyan woman red-handed performing witchcraft inside the house, an accusation that shocked the family and many Kenyans.
According to the family, the employer personally called them and informed them that their daughter was no longer alive.
During the phone call, the boss reportedly narrated that she found a handkerchief with porridge placed on a table and more porridge spilled on the floor.
She also claimed that porridge was flowing inside the house. To her, these signs allegedly meant witchcraft was being practiced.
The employer further told the family that witchcraft is considered a very serious crime in Saudi Arabia. She reportedly claimed that the punishment for such an act is chopping off the offender’s hands.
According to the disturbing account, the boss allegedly cut off the woman’s hands, after which she bled heavily and later died.
The painful incident has caused outrage among Kenyans online, with many demanding justice for the deceased woman.
Human rights groups are calling on the Kenyan government and relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and protect Kenyans working abroad.
