Police Officer Found Dead Inside Official House at Ahero Police Station

Police officers at Ahero Police Station in Kisumu County are investigating an incident after one of their colleagues was found dead inside his official residence within the station compound.

The deceased officer was identified as Constable Solomon Anukuri, who was serving at the station at the time of his death. His body was discovered after fellow officers became concerned when he failed to report for his normal duties.

According to police reports, officers searched for him and later found his body inside his assigned house within the secure police station compound. The area was immediately secured, and senior police commanders were informed.

Police officers documented the scene and confirmed that there was no disturbance reported within the station before the discovery was made. Relevant investigative teams were called in to establish the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

Authorities stated that standard procedures were followed, including transferring the body to a mortuary for preservation and further examination. A postmortem examination was scheduled to help determine the exact cause of death.

Colleagues revealed that Constable Anukuri had been carrying out his duties normally in the days leading up to the incident.

However, investigators noted that the officer had previously spoken about experiencing stress linked to personal matters, which is now forming part of the inquiry.

Police have recorded statements from officers stationed at Ahero Police Station as investigations continue. At the time of reporting, the cause of death had not yet been established.
