On Saturday, MP Eric Wamumbi issued a strong public warning to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, urging him to support President William Ruto and stop engaging in personal attacks. Wamumbi said leaders should focus on unity and development instead of fueling unnecessary conflict.
The MP praised President Ruto, saying he has consistently shown commitment to the people of Central Kenya. According to Wamumbi, the president deserves support rather than continuous criticism from leaders who were once close to his administration.
Wamumbi also accused Gachagua of repeatedly insulting his wife, a move he described as unacceptable.
“Dragging families into politics is wrong. We must respect one another, even when we disagree politically,” he said.
He added that personal insults do not help solve the serious problems facing the country. Wamumbi urged leaders to instead focus on key issues such as the rising cost of living, unemployment, and access to essential services.
The strong statement reflects growing political tension as leaders continue to clash publicly. Many observers say such disputes risk distracting the country from important national matters that require urgent attention.
